Leah
Having lived in Santa Monica, California - the Western world's Mecca for yoga - over the past decade, Leah has studied and trained with some of the most renowned modern-day yogis. She completed her first Teacher Training with Erich Schiffmann, personally assisted Bryan Kest and managed his studio, Santa Monica Power Yoga, and was mentored by Ally Hamilton.

Coming to Hong Kong with two years of teaching experience, Leah was honoured and excited to be a part of the yoga community here. In her classes, she will guide you to breathe deeply, work on your focus and awareness, move some energy around, and try to quiet "our monkey minds". Her sessions will also help you to detoxify, release tension (physical and otherwise), and find your flow together. "We will practise being present."

Leah views the physical benefits of getting stronger, leaner, more flexible and more balanced, as mere peripheral benefits. She has experienced yoga working on infinite levels. The deeper she got into her practice, the more she became aware of who she is...the more beauty she saw in life...the more gratitude and compassion she felt in her heart. That's where she felt her true practice began - when she really tuned into herself, when she paused to breathe a little more deeply, when she gave herself a few moments in her busy life to just slow down. And she's certain that her students will discover the same!

Leah's Tips

As much as you love yoga, you may have days when you really don't feel like practising, when you feel lethargic or uninspired. These may be the best days to get on your mat, even if you have to drag yourself out the door and spend most of the class resting in Child's Pose.

Take Savasana (Corpse Pose). It's the pose that brings together all the other poses, giving your body a chance to soak in the effects of your practice.

Be yoga. Take your yoga off the mat. You will spread more peace and love by being kind and generous to other people than by standing on your hands.
